About Naomi

I'm a GCSE student with a passion for educating young children. My mother has been a teacher for my entire life and therefore, I have spent my time in and out of her schools doing what I can to support.
I strongly believe that the primary ages are the opportunity to build a child's love for learning, fostering a natural desire to succeed instead of hyper-fixating on results. As a result, I always aspire to bring a fun and flexible lesson to the table.
As a person, I'm loving, calm and grounded, perfectly equipped to balancing your child's energy or peaking their enthusiasm. I volunteer in my free time to give back however I can; train in judo to build mental fortitude; and pursue creative hobbies like acting, singing and writing for well-roundedness. I'm also empathetic, patient and excited to meet your unique and vibrant child.

About the lesson

Audience:
My lessons are for any level of primary school children including those working above their level that would like to be pushed further. I'm also happy to work with SEND children but I suggest you consider whether they will be able to cope with online or will need in person lessons when choosing your service.
Style:
Having met all kinds of children, I am a firm believer that a rigid teaching style is the downfall of any good tutor. However, I have found that most children often respond best to positive feedback systems; placing focus on what they are capable of and why they should want to achieve more instead of emphasising their struggle. This is different for every child and I'm welcoming to all. Whether that means a gamified system or simply a sticker and a high five, I will always do my best to help your child build feel confidence and a passion for learning as they grow.
I would like to clarify that I believe active recall is very important when helping children learn new topics and may set further tasks for them to complete at home. However, if you would prefer otherwise, I'm happy to discuss.
My qualifications:
- I'm an excelling grade 9 GCSE student, moving on to further my studies in A level maths, further maths and physics
- Despite my young age, I have three years of virtual tutoring through platforms such as mypocketskill and have volunteered in primary schools, building my skills with young children since 12
