About Laurie

Hi, I’m Laurie, a friendly, motivated French tutor who genuinely loves the language and helping others succeed in it.

I achieved a Grade 9 at GCSE and an A at A-Level in French, so I understand exactly what it takes to perform at the highest level. Having recently completed these exams myself, I’m very familiar with the current specifications, speaking exam format, and what examiners are really looking for.

I’ve always been fascinated by languages and how they open doors to culture, travel and opportunity. I enjoy making lessons engaging and interactive, while still keeping a strong focus on exam success and measurable improvement.

As someone who’s recently been through the process, I know the pressure students can feel- especially with speaking exams- and I pride myself on creating a calm, encouraging environment where confidence grows quickly.

Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about film and the arts, and I’ll be studying Liberal Arts at York University (Russell Group) next year. I bring creativity, energy and structure into my lessons- so they’re productive, but never boring.

About the lesson

I am a passionate French tutor with a GCSE grade 9 and A-Level Grade A, who is offering high energy and focused lessons designed to build self-confidence that will lead to top grades.

I know exactly what the examiners are looking for- having experienced it for myself and creating a checklist for success. While the exams themselves have their own methods behind them, my lessons combine clear structure and engaging activities so that students don’t just memorise French, but rather they understand it and are able to use it.
