About Zahrah
Hi, I’m Zahrah! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic student who really enjoys Maths and loves helping other people feel more confident with it too. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and a Grade 8 in GCSE Statistics, and I’m about to start studying Maths and Further Maths at A-level. I’ve always enjoyed the problem-solving side of Maths, and I like finding different ways to explain things when someone doesn’t understand a topic straight away. I have experience tutoring Maths, as well as Biology, Chemistry and Physics, so I’m used to adapting my explanations to different students and learning styles. I’m patient and approachable, and I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without feeling embarrassed. I know Maths can sometimes be frustrating when a topic just doesn’t seem to click, so my aim is to break things down into smaller, manageable steps and build your confidence along the way. Whether you’re struggling with a particular topic, preparing for an exam or simply want some extra practice, I’ll be happy to help!

My lessons are relaxed, friendly and completely tailored to each student. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and letting me know when something doesn’t make sense, so we can work through it together without any pressure. I usually start by finding out what you already know and which areas you’re finding difficult. From there, I’ll explain the topic step-by-step, using clear examples before giving you questions to try yourself. I’ll be there to guide you through anything you get stuck on and help you understand where you went wrong, rather than just giving you the answer. I also like to include exam-style questions and useful exam techniques, especially when preparing for GCSEs. Lessons can focus on whatever you need most, whether that’s revising a specific topic, catching up on missed content, practising questions or preparing for an upcoming test. Lessons will typically be around 1 hour, but I’m happy to be flexible depending on what works best for you. My aim is for you to leave each lesson feeling more confident and understanding Maths a little better than when you started!
