About Rayyan
Hi, I'm Rayyan. I'm a Grade 10 student at Central Peel Secondary School who balances school with varsity volleyball, robotics club, and event work. I know math can be frustrating because I've been there myself. That's why I take a patient, step-by-step approach — I don't move on until you actually understand. I'm not a scary older tutor; I'm someone who gets what it's like to feel stuck. My goal is to make math feel less stressful and more manageable, one problem at a time. I show up on time, take this seriously, and actually care about helping you improve.

I focus on patience and breaking things down. When a student is stuck, I don't just give the answer — I ask questions to figure out where the confusion started. Then I explain the same concept in a different way, using simple language and real-life examples. I make sure the student actually understands each step before moving forward. I also stay calm and positive because math anxiety is real, and rushing makes it worse. My goal is to build confidence, not just finish problems.
A typical lesson runs about 45 to 50 minutes. I start with a quick 5-minute review of what we covered last time and ask how school math is going. Then I spend about 20 minutes on the new topic—I explain it, show examples, and we work through a few together. Next, the student tries 15 minutes of problems on their own while I watch and guide when needed. I end with a 5-minute recap and give 2 or 3 practice problems for next time.
I'm only in Grade 10, so I just learned most of this math myself. That means I remember exactly what felt confusing and what actually helped me understand. I also balance a busy schedule — varsity volleyball, robotics club, and event work — so I know how to stay focused and manage time. I'm not a scary adult tutor. I'm a student like them, which makes lessons feel less pressure and more like teamwork.
My lessons are for students in grades 5 through 9. This covers basic math skills, pre-algebra, and introductory algebra. Whether your child is falling behind, needs homework help, or wants to get ahead before high school, I can help. I work well with students who feel anxious about math or think they're "bad at it"—because I've been there too. I also help students who just need someone to walk through problems with them step by step.
