About Anthony
I am a recent Masters Aerospace Engineering graduate who is currently employed as an aerodynamics engineer. This involves the study of the motion of air and it's interaction with surfaces such as airflow over a wing. From a very early age I have enjoyed problem solving which has pushed me towards the challenges that maths can create. I have taken this further by choosing Maths, Further Maths and Physics as my A-level options before studying Engineering at university and pursuing it as a career.
Outside of academia I am a keen hiker who is responsible for teaching others how to navigate through the wildernesses of the UK. I loved teaching these skills and this led me towards tutoring as I have a passion for STEM and for learning how to share my knowledge to all levels, from students to chief engineers.

I am a recent Aerospace Engineering graduate who is currently employed as an Aerodynamics Engineer. I aim to work with students to build understanding and exam techniques in order to tackle any maths paper.
My Teaching Philosophy:
The one key message I have learned throughout my education, from school to university and even into my profession, is that understanding is the foundation of progress. Through understanding the theory, all maths problems can be broken down into smaller, more manageable tasks. Therefore the crucial aim of my lessons is helping the student to understand and, in turn, providing them with the opportunity to build confidence to tackle any Maths problem.
Example Lesson:
My lessons are flexible and I encourage students to make suggestions and help me tailor a lesson's structure and activities to match their learning style. The first lesson will start with introductions followed by a discussion regarding the topics that you want to cover and identifying the topics that you find the most challenging. Using this information we will formulate a plan on how best to proceed.
We usually start with some interactive learning using a range of materials in a manner suited to your individual learning style and needs. When we have built understanding and confidence with the topic, we will move onto working through practice questions together. When you feel comfortable enough to take questions on your own, I will step back and give you space to challenge yourself by solving problems independently. We will then review your work together and wrap up the lesson by sharing feedback with one another.
Any lesson plan can be adapted based on your preferences and learning requirements.
