About Dave
I'm Dave, and the first thing to know about me is I have three kids of my own and I want the same for you as I would want for them from a tutor. So I will aim to help you to get the best from yourself that you can, by focusing on the areas where you feel you most need my help.
I have devoted the last 15 years of my career, both professionally and in a volunteer capacity, to helping young people achieve their goals and become the best version of themselves. It gives me huge satisfaction to know that I have helped them in however small a way to succeed and grow.

Although new to tutoring I have been coaching and mentoring young people for some 15 years across a variety of activities including sports. My approach to learning is student-led, in that I view my role as one of facilitation - helping the student to discover their own solutions, rather than simply providing answers. My experience tells me this produces more concrete results, with the student retaining what was learned more effectively.
I like to teach using a variety of media including music, literature, video as well as conversation, and am always looking for fresh and innovative ways to promote and maintain the student's desire to learn.
