About Vatsal
I’m a student researcher in mathematics and theoretical physics with focus on string theory and quantum gravity. I enjoy teaching as both a consolidation of my foundational knowledge and a feedback on my science communication skills, both quite critical for my career.

Lessons would be tailored to individual needs to best suit a student’s learning and preparation. The emphasis of my pedagogy lies heavier on the side of thinking than memorising, encouraging students to perceive more knowledge than information. I find it worth concentrating effort on helping a student arrive at an answer or understanding themselves through hints and clarifications instead of presenting them with those directly: developing their approach to various topics is more important for their self-reliance in the long term.

We can also bundle 20 hours at £800. Education rarely occurs through quick fixes; I’d highly recommend this bundle for transformative results. The pressure to maximise learning over a few set of sessions is not healthy.
The rates mentioned are only to indicate a ballpark around the median expected effort with an interquartile range of around £35/hr (assuming a left-skewed distribution). Exact figures can be chalked up based on the topics and level of help required.
Our goal remains that of tailoring the exposition to the student’s needs divorced from these numbers.
