Student success is the central guiding principle of my teaching philosophy. This may involve clarification of key concepts, working out examples, helping with homework and exam preparation, but in all cases it may be expressed as the answer to the question "How may I, as an expert in the field, assist the student(s) in mastering the subject and succeed in their career?"
I am a recent Ph.D. graduate from the University of Florida. I have been a teaching assistant at UF for a year now, and have interacted intensively with students, including assistance during regular office hours, but also offering recitation hours beyond what was expected. I have previously offered tutor services to high-school students in Math before UF, so I know the (FL state) standards expected from high-school students.
