About Edels Joy
With nine years of experience as a licensed science teacher, I am committed to providing high-quality, engaging, and supportive learning experiences for my students. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master of Arts in Biology, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Plant Biology. My academic background and teaching experience have strengthened both my knowledge of science and my ability to explain complex concepts in ways that students can easily understand.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Biology, Environmental Science, and Research to learners with different abilities and learning needs. I understand that science can sometimes feel challenging, so I create a patient, friendly, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their ideas.
My lessons are carefully prepared, organized, and adapted to each student's level and learning goals. I use clear explanations, visual materials, real-life examples, guided activities, and practice exercises to help students understand concepts rather than simply memorize information.
As your tutor, I will respect your individual learning pace and provide constructive feedback to help you improve. Whether you want to strengthen your understanding of Biology, prepare for an examination, improve your scientific reasoning, or develop your research skills, I will guide you step by step.
My goal is to help you become not only more knowledgeable in science but also more confident, curious, and independent as a learner. I look forward to supporting you as you work toward your academic goals.

As a science tutor, I believe that students learn best when scientific concepts are connected to real-life experiences and presented in a clear, engaging, and organized way. With nine years of experience teaching Biology, Environmental Science, and Research, I aim to make science understandable and meaningful rather than simply requiring students to memorize facts.
My teaching approach is student-centered, inquiry-based, and interactive. I begin by determining what the learner already knows and identifying concepts that need further clarification. I then explain new ideas step by step using simple language, diagrams, illustrations, examples, and real-world applications.
A typical lesson begins with a short review or engaging question that connects the new topic with the learner's previous knowledge. I then introduce the lesson objective so the student clearly understands what they are expected to accomplish.
The main discussion combines concise explanations with diagrams, examples, guided questions, and practical applications. Instead of giving all the information at once, I break complex concepts into manageable parts and regularly check the student's understanding.
After the discussion, the learner applies the concept through activities such as classification exercises, data interpretation, problem solving, case analysis, Punnett-square exercises, research scenarios, or other tasks appropriate to the topic. We conclude by reviewing the key concepts and completing a short assessment or reflection to identify areas that may need additional practice.
My background combines extensive classroom teaching experience with continuing graduate-level study in the biological sciences. I hold a bachelor's degree in Biology, have completed a Master of Arts in Biology, and am currently pursuing further graduate studies in Plant Biology.
As a tutor, I am patient, friendly, and supportive while maintaining clear academic expectations. I recognize that students have different learning styles and levels of confidence in science, so I adapt my explanations, examples, activities, and pacing to their individual needs.
I also emphasize scientific thinking rather than memorization. I want my students to become confident in analyzing information, interpreting evidence, asking meaningful questions, and applying scientific concepts to unfamiliar situations.
