About Max
I recently graduated Cum Laude (top 25%) with a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Vermont. I did research on lab-fabricated semiconductors for over a year and presented at UVM's research conference this spring on my findings. I have also TAed first year physics (teaching kinematics, basic mechanics and wave mechanics) courses.
I won the David Juncker Physics reward ($500) for outstanding academic achievement and was part of a three-person group that won $3000 for a white paper competition, outlining a plan to bring back the semiconductor industry to the US (both Spring 2026). I also received summer grants for two summers to do research at the University of Vermont ($4000 and $4500).

My approach to tutoring is always first visualization. Drawing some sort of diagram to explain the problem and ease understanding. Many teachers will begin by trying to explain new terms or concepts only verbally at first, but this often leads to confusion.
My usual lesson plan will be to introduce the topic, often using a diagram or some sort of simple analogy if a diagram is not possible. Then I will explain any key components of the topic, go through an example problem(s), and then guide the student through a problem themselves.
I am looking to teach middle schoolers, high schoolers, and 1st year college students. I can cover anything from Algebra 1 & Geometry to Calculus I or also high school & 1st year Physics.
