About Andrew R

I got my Master's degree from NYU in Data Science and my Bachelor's from Columbia University in Mathematics and Statistics, with a minor in Economics. I have been tutoring since I was in high school and was a teaching assistant at both NYU and Columbia where I ran discussion sections and office hours to help support students. I've always had a passion for teaching and I love seeing my students reach their goals. Therefore, my focus in our sessions will be supporting you.

About the lesson

In my experience, the best way to teach is to give you the confidence and knowledge to be able to explain the material to someone else. Therefore, in our sessions, I will identify what areas you're struggling with and how best to address those difficulties. Sometimes, this involves me presenting material to you. More typically, however, you know more than you think you do! In that case, we'll get to the root of the difficulty in a very conversational way. Once that's done, we'll be able to do some practice questions that should cover what we've done and push the concepts even further. Most importantly, I want you to get the tools you need from our sessions.

I have taught all ages, from middle school students to graduate students. I can tutor mathematics (calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, algebra, geometry, trigonometry), statistics, econometrics, economics, and programming in Python or R. I grew up in NewYork State so I am familiar with the Regents curriculum as well as AP exams (AP Statistics, AP Macro, AP Micro, AP Calc AB/BC).
