About Michael

My interest in software development was first piqued in high school when I was first given programming assignments for classes. After this, I began building small projects in my own time before beginning my university degree. After having studied and receiving my BEng in Computing, I’ve worked with various companies working on and troubleshooting public facing websites, internal desktop applications, and a widely used mobile app. In my career, I have previously been tasked with the training of an apprentice on web development, who was working towards their degree. I also provided department-wide training for introductions to programming concepts to a team of ten in order to widen their knowledge base. In my spare time I work with retro video games in an attempt to further understand the technical workings and further community understanding through modifications and fixes.

About the lesson

Offering beginner lessons consisting of software developing fundamentals and practical tasks. We will work towards building a portfolio of skills, including desktop application development, to help those who are looking to start their journey with programming. Starting with basic concepts, such as variables and functions, and building up to object orientation, application development for desktop, and introduction to web development. Each hour or one-and-a-half-hour lesson would begin by establishing concepts before developing and implementing those concepts through various activities. Lessons are student-driven and flexible to abilities to ensure cohesive understanding of concepts. These lessons are aimed at those with basic computer literacy skills at high school level and above.
