About Catherine

I always wanted to inspire my students with the power of "YET," which I always notice with all my students who are intimidated by the lessons. There's nothing wrong with not understanding or knowing the lesson yet, but with practice and review, they will succeed. I also wanted to let my students know that, like some of them, I have a disability, which is Dyslexia and ADHD. Studying was a challenge for me, but I was able to overcome it, and I am still managing it up until this time. I wanted to let my students know that despite challenges, I was able to overcome my own challenges and able to become an Electrical Engineer and a Mom.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is motherly, just like how I taught my son with love and care. I teach by understanding his needs and capabilities. I tailor my teaching style to match the student’s learning preferences and needs. I encourage active participation from students through discussions, problem-solving exercises, and interactive activities. I regularly provide constructive feedback for improvement.
Typical Lesson Plan:
I start by reviewing previous lessons and briefly outlining the goals for the current session. Then I introduce the main concept or topic using a combination of explanations, examples, and visual aids. I allow students to apply their knowledge through guided practices or assignments.
What Sets Me Apart:
I adapt my teaching approach to suit my student's needs and learning styles. I strive to make learning enjoyable and engaging by incorporating activities with real-life examples and relatable analogies. I emphasize understanding the lesson rather than memorizing it.
My goal as a tutor is to help my students achieve academic success and foster a deep understanding and appreciation for the subjects they’re studying.
