Piano Lessons for Children and Adults
Lessons
Learn piano in a relaxed, friendly environment where music is shaped around you. I teach both children and adults of all levels, from complete beginners discovering their first notes to experienced players refining their technique or exploring new styles. Every lesson is tailored to your goals, learning pace, and musical interests.
For Children
Lessons for children are fun, imaginative, and filled with encouragement. I use creative activities, games, and songs to help young learners develop focus, rhythm, and a natural sense of musicality. Children gain confidence through small, achievable goals, while also learning to listen, express themselves, and enjoy the process of making music. Parents receive regular updates and guidance on how to support practice at home.
For Adults
Many adults come to lessons feeling nervous or unsure, especially if they are returning to the piano after a long break or trying it for the first time. My approach is calm, supportive, and completely pressure-free. Together we explore the music you love, whether it’s classical repertoire, pop songs, jazz, or improvisation. Lessons can focus on reading music, improving technique, understanding harmony, or simply playing for relaxation and enjoyment.
My Teaching Style
Students often describe my lessons as positive, engaging, and well-structured. I believe in combining clear technical foundations with creative exploration, helping every student to feel both capable and inspired. I encourage questions, curiosity, and laughter in lessons, music should feel expressive and personal, not intimidating. Mistakes are simply part of the learning process, and progress comes naturally when you enjoy what you play.
Improvisation and Creativity
I often include short improvisation or composition moments in lessons to help students connect emotionally with the music. These activities build listening skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of how music works. You don’t need any experience to try this, it’s about discovery and expression, not perfection.
Lesson Options
Lessons are available both in-person and online via Zoom or Teams. Online students receive digital sheet music, lesson notes, and practice recordings. In-person lessons take place in a welcoming, comfortable space with a real piano and resources for all levels.
About Me
Alongside teaching, I’m an active composer with experience working across classical and cross-cultural music traditions. My background in cross-cultural composition and improvisation shapes how I teach. I value individuality and encourage students to develop their own musical voice.
What to Expect
From your very first lesson, you’ll feel supported, guided, and encouraged. We’ll set achievable goals together and celebrate progress every step of the way. Whether you dream of performing, composing, taking exams, or simply playing for joy, I’ll help you get there with confidence and creativity. Music is a journey, not a race—and my role is to make that journey enjoyable, inspiring, and uniquely yours.

It is clear that she has plenty of years of experience. I can highly recommend her!
I am a 50 year old woman who learned piano as a child and was recommended to try lessons with Atefeh. The time is always great fun - she always tries to find the best way for each individual student and I am very much enjoying leaning to play lovely music that I hadn’t heard before. Her enthusiasm for teaching comes across every lesson and I feel I am generally connecting with music more. Thank you :)
