About Me

My name is Amber, and I’m happily married to my best friend. Together, we are raising seven wonderful children. Balancing family life and education, I am currently finishing my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. We live in the beautiful state of Arizona, where I am passionate about creating a nurturing and inspiring environment both at home and in the classroom. My journey in education is driven by my love for learning and my commitment to fostering a positive and engaging atmosphere for young learners.

About the lesson

My teaching methods are student-centered, emphasizing active participation, personalized instruction, and collaboration. I use a constructivist approach, fostering inquiry-based learning where students explore and discover concepts independently, supported by scaffolded instruction that gradually increases complexity.

I promote collaborative learning through group projects and peer-to-peer teaching, creating a community where students feel safe to share ideas. Differentiated instruction is key; I address various learning styles with diverse methods and use flexible grouping to tailor learning experiences.

Technology integration plays a significant role in my classroom. I utilize digital tools and blended learning to enhance engagement and provide a comprehensive educational experience. Interactive lectures incorporate multimedia presentations and real-world examples, while formative assessments like quizzes and exit tickets guide instruction and provide feedback.

I employ problem-based learning (PBL) to present real-world challenges, encouraging critical thinking and collaboration. The Socratic method stimulates deep thinking through open-ended questions, and the flipped classroom model assigns instructional content for homework, reserving class time for hands-on activities.

Reflective practice, through journals and peer reviews, helps students recognize their growth and areas for improvement. Gamification, incorporating game elements like point systems and rewards, makes learning more motivating and enjoyable. Project-based learning engages students in creating products or solving problems, adding real-world relevance.

Classroom management focuses on clear expectations, positive reinforcement, and consistent routines. I use proactive intervention to address potential issues early and restorative practices for conflict resolution, emphasizing repairing harm and restoring relationships. These methods aim to create a dynamic, inclusive, and effective learning environment that fosters growth and a love of learning.
