About Tim
My degree is in English Literature, with a special focus on British Literature and popular science fiction and fantasy. I have extensive knowledge of other mythologies as well, from Hinduism to biblical texts.
As an author of over 20 books, I also bring a unique perspective on how such works are crafted, as well as how to interpet them. I am able to offer encouragement as well as admonition for students, so expect a kind as well as incisive reading of each text.

My lessons begin with close-dreading and dissection of text from a culturally materialist perspective. Once the text is demonstrably understood as both a piece of art and a cultural artifact I would typically move on to lessons readers can derive from the piece. Finally, I expect to take students into the creative side of the text and teach them how to use the artistic lessons of a piece of writing to craft a short work of their own.
My lessons are functionally college-level, but with a focus on the interpretation of each piece of literature as both a message and an object in its own right.
