About Luckas
I come with a strong academic background, with specialization in Photonics (i.e. all sciences that relate to light!), and solid foundations in math and physics.
That being said, I understand what it means to not understand a topic, sometimes feeling overwhelmed by it. The transition from high school to university was a brutal one. Suddenly feeling that I didn't know anything anymore, and that I didn't deserve my place where I was. Eventually, I was able to overcome the obstacles and push forward, and I would like to help people achieve the same. You can learn how to perform well, no matter how daunting people make STEM topics sound. The most important is getting back that trust in yourself!

While learning with me, I will emphasize on a deep understanding of the theory - coupled with practice in the form of exercises. Just knowing the method to solve a given problem, what some may call the "brute force" approach, won't cut it. Learning why things work the way they do is paramount to knowing how to tackle the problem, and also makes the whole thing - whether it's math or physics - less scary and more fun to approach!
The first lesson we'll use to go over your needs, identify what subjects require more attention and what are your goals for the work we do together.
On a typical lesson, I will ask you to explain the theory of the matter we're discussing. It is the best way to identify the gaps in our knowledge. Don't worry about whether you get it right or not, there are no grades here, no marked assessments. We are just figuring out where we stand and what is left to learn.
Next, we will go over the gaps we previously identified, aiming to strengthen your theoretical understanding.
Once no questions remain, we will switch to practical exercises that go over the topics we covered. Starting with basic/foundational problems and trying to work our way towards more difficult tasks.
Depending on our progress over the lessons and on your load on your day to day, I may give you some homework that we can review on the next lesson.
These lessons are intended for students in middle to high school that feel they have difficulties at either math or physics.
I come from the French educational system, so can teach in French, but also in English - I have full working proficiency with +4 years of work 100% in English - and Spanish, having lived 14 years in Spanish-speaking countries.

Luckas is a charismatic, patient and encouraging teacher. I had a lot of difficulty with math classes while I was in highschool, and Luckas helped me to properly understand my courses. He provided different approaches/perspectives to the subjects while giving more advanced knowledge to ready me for what was not yet thought in school. I certainly recommend him as a math educator, but also as an advisor in both photonics and programming.
Luckas is very patient and gentle with his teaching approach. Given his extensive language skills, he was able to help me out alot in learning French. Though the language seems unreasonable at times, he makes an effort to understand why things are the way they are to further explain them to you.
