About Kristin
HI Friends,
My name is Kristin and I have been teaching for 18 years as an elementary school teacher. I love teaching children to read on all levels. Children are not born knowing how to read, reading is something that is taught through systematic and explicit reading lessons. I have an undergraduate degree in early childhood education, a master's in special education, and a postmaster's degree in reading specialist.

Lessons in reading should be explicit and systematic based on assessment and data-driven. Teaching reading lessons should start with a phonemic awareness warm-up, review of previously learned skills, teaching new skills and applying them in writing and reading.
