About Jessica

After over a decade on Wall Street and Corporate M&A, I made a purposeful shift to pursue my lifelong passion: music. I was honored to receive a full-tuition teaching scholarship to the Mannes School of Music, where I earned my degree in Classical Piano Performance. During my time at Mannes, I specialized in piano pedagogy, studying effective teaching methods for students at all levels. I also gained valuable experience teaching the Piano 1A and Piano 1B Undergraduate course for musicians who are non-pianists, which deepened my understanding of diverse learning styles and instructional techniques. My approach to teaching combines structured, goal-oriented methods with a nurturing environment that fosters creativity and confidence. Whether your child is a beginner or looking to advance their skills, I tailor lessons to support their individual growth both musically and personally.

About the lesson

I believe music education should be both structured and inspiring. My approach balances technical development, creative expression, and practical goals—tailored to each student’s learning style and pace.

I incorporate:

Ear training & sight-reading from the beginning

A mix of traditional methods (e.g., Alfred, Suzuki, or Bastien books) and modern tools (apps, backing tracks, and improvisation)

Emphasis on musicianship, not just notes—students learn to listen, interpret, and perform confidently

Positive reinforcement and goal setting to build motivation and consistency

I also provide recorded practice guides, feedback between lessons, and custom lesson materials when needed.

Perfect! She is great with kids. My 6yo had only 2 lessons with her but they already started reading/understanding music notes for beginners, which is amazing.

Perfect! Jessica is an awesome instructor! She is always patient, thoughtful, encouraging, and attentive. Using positive reinforcement, she points out good things I'm doing and offers additional tips. Every lesson has gone by so quickly and has taught me so much. It's awesome to see myself improving and to have a teacher who is as equally excited about it as I am. Her lessons are structured but personalized, which is exactly what works. Her years of experience with the piano really shine through and you can feel confident knowing that you are working with someone who really knows their stuff. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to start piano from scratch or who is wanting to take their skills to the next level.

My 6-year old daughter has been taking lessons with Jessica for six months, and the progress has been amazing! Jessica is incredibly patient and really knows how to make lessons fun and engaging for kids. She adapts her teaching to fit my daughter’s pace and interests, which keeps her excited about practicing. She is professional, always punctual, and communicates clearly about what we should work on between lessons. I love how involved she is — she gives me weekly updates on my daughter’s progress and gives helpful tips for at-home practice. We feel so lucky to have found her!

She’s such a patient instructor! She plays so beautifully and motivates her students, keeping “homework” fun so you want to practice. Jess finds what areas you specifically need improvement on and suggests drills that work for you. She’s also really kind, successful, and welcoming so it’s also nice to speak to her as a friend
