About Lara
My name is Lara, I am 26 years old, and I am originally from Melbourne. Most recently, I have been living in New York City, where I completed my Master of Music in Historical Performance (Baroque violin) at The Juilliard School. Some of my areas of interest include art, tradition, instruments ... I love all things old!
Music has taken me all over the world—from traveling as a teenager to places like Germany, the Czech Republic, and Italy, to more recent tours in the U.K., China, and France. With dedication, that could be you or your child too!

My objective as a teacher is to nurture confidence and creativity in my students, both musically and personally. I offer individual violin, viola, music theory lessons and/or supervised practice sessions, in 45-, and 60-minute periods, thoughtfully tailored to each learner’s pace, personality, and goals.
I offer a range of resources for parents, including both AMEB materials and supplementary options. Where appropriate, I also provide short instructional videos to reinforce key concepts, which students can revisit after lessons.
Based on my experience, the online format can work well, even for younger learners, provided there is support from a parent or guardian. Please feel free to message me with any requests, concerns, or if you’d like testimonials from my past clients!
