About Jennifer
As someone who found out she has a learning disability upon moving and going into 6th grade, I know and understand that every student learns differently, and that explaining something the same way twice is not the way to help any student. I have always been a very hands-on and visual learner and would incorporate that into my lessons so that my students not only can understand it mentally, but also be able to see it. Math was always a subject I struggled with, especially fractions, until I was able to physically see it. I know that frustration, while it is the brink of a discovery, also needs to be dealt with in a gentle and encouraging way. Allowing for breaks when necessary.

I will typically find out where the student is at and then work to fill in the gaps whilst integrating new content to help them stay with the content they're being taught. My typical lesson plan would briefly going over what was taught the previous lesson as a recap before moving on to the next step. Unless they are struggling with the previous step, in which case I will gladly continue that.
