About Ava
I graduated from NYU with a Bachelor of Science in neuroscience. While there, I worked in several research labs focused on serotonergic neurons and developmental psychology. I love independent research and education, and I wrote several essays for my university journal on traumatic brain injury and PTSD. I accumulated over 2500 hours of research, in addition to working as a surgical medical assistant! I tutored throughout college, and I hope to help students who, like me not too long ago, may feel overwhelmed by the course load! In my free time, I love reading, running, and traveling around. I am currently in a master's program at New York Medical College for biomedical science.

Hi everyone! My name is Ava, and I am passionate about teaching all things science-related. I'm currently pursuing a Master of Biomedical Science, and I would love to share how interesting medicine and biology can be. My typical lessons are 50 minutes and will always begin with a conversational check-in. I think feeling comfortable is crucial in educational settings, and I want you to feel confident asking any question! I am a firm believer in growth and will help guide you to reach your full potential in science-related topics. I approach my lessons in a very practice-problem-based way, and I like us to work through problem sets together. This way, you can see how information looks on exam-like content and understand the actual application of all the information you are learning. I am super flexible with my schedule and willing to meet early mornings or late nights! I can best serve students in high school or college-level courses in biology, chemistry, molecular science, neuroscience, or other biology-based courses. Please reach out with any questions!
