I had the pleasure of meeting Katya Popova at New England Conservatory where she teaches visual arts. From the first classes I had with her it was evident her immense commitment to her students. Katya has a unique ability to bring out the artistic creativity in her students. She always proposes free format activities in which one can explore within oneself using specific techniques. Her respect and interest in her students as artists allows for an atmosphere of sharing and collaboration. Katya is one of the best teachers I have ever encountered. Thanks to her I developed an attitude of curiosity and creativity towards life that has allowed me to expand in all fields of my artistic work.
