About Alexander

- What kind of experience do you have?

Over 10 Years professional successful teaching experience in London, teaching children and adults of all levels from complete beginner to grade 8, from many different backgrounds and nationalities. I have taught in pupil's homes, in my own place as well as have worked for a number of education establishments, including Kingsdale Foundation School 2008-09; The Music House for Children, Shepherds Bush, London (Since 2007- 2013) London Borough of Newham- Primary schools, London Borough of Hillingdon- primary schools- One-to-One and small groups teaching - Piano, Keyboard, Oboe, Music Theory tuition.

Also I am a freelance concert performer since 2001 in orchestras and ensembles and thus know first hand what it is like to prepare for various performance situation in festivals, concerts, events, exams, conservatoire entries, recitals and naturally guide many of my students towards their own successful performances. Please have a listen to the tracks quoted on this page as examples of my playing.

I am also an orchestral conductor, having conducted St. Barts' Orchestra Streatham, London from 2008-2011 on a regular basis, with weekly rehearsals and a few regular concerts per year, involving the local choir and professional international soloists. Thus, I have a real experience of working with a larger group of people with various age groups and abilities in a conductor/leadership role and teaching capacities, resulting in successful performances.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes

- Where and with whom did you train?

I have trained in some of the best Music institutions: Specialist Music School for talented children, Kiev Ukraine (up to 1996), and in England- Birmingham Conservatoire Junior School, Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, Royal College of Music, London. Thus I combine the best traditions of East European with the fine traditions of Western European school in the UK, ABRSM music exam regulations particularly.

Yes- Incorporated Society of Musicians - Treasurer and Committee member since 2007-13.
Musicians Union Member since 2004
