About Sophia
I have been tutoring and teaching students since I was a senior in high school. I specialize in chemistry and mathematics tutoring, helping students achieve high scores in the previous SAT II subject tests and AP exams. When I was in high school, I struggled a lot with understanding how to ace standardized tests and eventually cracked the code to finishing exams successfully. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me to connect with ambitious students and push them toward achieving their academic goals.

I typically like to start with lesson review and understand where my students are at with the work they are receiving at school. I believe that practice makes permanence, so my tutoring strategy revolves around repetition and true understanding of concepts. I make sure that students always try themselves before asking for hints or help in order to build up their confidence in the skills.
