About Gary

I’m passionate about teaching languages through meaningful conversations and cultural exploration. For me, teaching is not just a profession but a true joy—I love connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and learning from one another. My lessons are a space where we can delve into topics that interest you, whether it's everyday life, culture, or deeper themes like psychology, art, music, or literature. I believe language learning is most effective when it's engaging and relevant, so my goal is to create a learning experience that feels both insightful and personal to you.

About the lesson

My lessons are fun, interactive, and tailored to each student's learning needs and interests. I use a variety of engaging techniques to build confidence in pronunciation, reading, and sentence structure, often drawing from authentic materials such as videos, songs, and short texts from media. Each session is supported by custom worksheets that include key vocabulary and grammar exercises to reinforce learning. Lesson durations are flexible, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your preference and goals. I’m a fully qualified teacher approved to teach in NSW schools, with 9 years of full-time classroom experience since 2016. In addition to my school teaching background, I’ve tutored both English and Chinese to non-native speakers. My lessons are ideal for beginner and intermediate learners of all ages who are looking to improve their Chinese or English in an engaging and supportive environment.
