About Fabian
I have four years of afterschool teaching experience (starting at age 20), but began tutoring when I was fifteen. I have taught ages five to sixteen in various settings, worked with summer camps and with charter schools. In this time I’ve worked as a co-teacher, an assistant teacher, and a lead teacher directing assistants. I started studying art at a young age and therefore had experience with almost every artistic medium there is, including ceramics, jewelry, printmaking, and painting.

As an educator, I teach process more than product. A final piece comes from a stable process, and my method of teaching focuses on finding what each student needs in terms of process and method. Although I have ten years of experience and training with fine arts tools, I prefer to teach with easy-access supplies (pencils, highlighter, ballpoint) at first to build a foundation before introducing cost. We will start with four-panel comic strips and learn the essentials of storytelling, and slowly move on to larger projects.
