About Shaughn
Having worked across the country as a performer in theater, film, and other venues of the arts, I offer a holistic approach to teaching. I am not teaching you, as an audience member, what I wish to see and hear, but rather as a fellow performer how to access those tools.

I teach the voice not solely as an instrument but as a tool for creating stories.
While lessons cater to your specific needs, they follow a general formula.
We will always begin our lessons with a check-in and warm-up in order to make sure that we are on the same page for the day and that you are vocally prepared to use your instrument.
Unlike other voice teachers, I do not stress "sounding pretty" when we sing. Vocal strength is developed over time, and so instead, it is something we focus on in our Long-Term Goals. Our Day-to-Day focus is on developing your Technique and Performance/Acting. We do this by working on a combination of songs that you bring in and suggestions that I give.
I specialize in working with high-school-aged students who are considering applying for a degree in the Arts.
