About April
A recent Masters graduate from the Royal Academy of Music, I have a wealth of experience in both performance and teaching.
I was awarded the Leverhulme Arts Scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music and have also performed in the First Violin Section of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to the above, I was the concertmaster for the NZSO National Youth Orchestra in 2019. Whilst studying at the University of Auckland, I was awarded the Spring Prize, Sagar Prize and the Sagar Vandewart Scholarship.
In 2014, I was awarded the First Prize at the NZCT Secondary Schools’ Chamber Music Contest.

I am a friendly and patient violin teacher, with a Masters degree in violin performance from the Royal Academy of Music. In addition, I have experience teaching beginners to conservatoire level students. With experience in both ABRSM grade levels and the Suzuki method of teaching, I am able to tailor my approach to your goals.
All levels of ability are welcome and no experience is necessary!
