My name is Alexandra. I am a 22 year old graduate. I have a great passion for history and base my future upon working within this field. I enjoy travelling to culturally rich countries and cities that have a inexhaustible past. I enjoy watching other achieve their goals and reach their full potential. In my spare time I volunteer within the community and work towards providing for others.

My approach to personal tutoring is tailoring lessons to the student. This will be structured by their understanding and academic needs. History is a vast subject with incredible depth, for the student this means refining this knowledge to their varying subjects. For students our sessions would begin around their most confident subjects and interests within their curriculum. This will allow me to understand their academic strengths in order to apply these to their areas they show weakness. This will allow the student to base their private lessons on confidence already established. My personal tuturing philosophy is based upon the encouragement of confidence for the students in both academic strengths and weaknesses.
For students within their exam periods I aim to provide a range of exam related questions and revision tactics that will allow them to tackle these practice questions with confidence. History is not a subject that requires the memorisation of dates but the understanding of why events have a chain effect on the present and future. Universities concentrate deeply on this aspect, creating coursework and exams around this basis. My experience of tutoring a wide range of ages allows me to adapt lessons to the age group requirements.
I believe passionately in the huge value of tutoring and creating a passion for history. I take great satisfaction in seeing my students achieve their full potential and watching their confidence grow.
