About Sydney
Hi! My name is Sydney and I am a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley where I obtained an undergraduate degree in Media Studies and Education! Additionally, I am pursuing a masters degree in Education. My favorite subjects are reading and writing and I am inspired to help lift up students while aiding in their educational journey. I pride myself on improving the confidence of young students and teaching in a way that is catered to the individual needs and learning styles of each person. I will fully invest my time and effort to best support you in any way that I can!

My teaching methods and techniques vary from student to student as every person learns differently with their own style! My academic plan will be formulated based on your needs, your educational goals, and your learning style. For example, if you are looking for essay help a typical lesson plan would be:
- A Brainstorming unit, getting creative with ideas and the essay prompt. (Depending on the type of learner you are we may be brainstorming with art, research, a thought provoking conversation, etc!)
-The next step would be thesis creation and outline, mapping out the direction of our essay!
- Step #3 would be a rough draft, my teaching style is to write down all thoughts and commentary in this section thst will be revised later.
- Our 4th step will be to transform our rough draft into a final draft! Making sure we are hitting all of the prompt requirements and that our work is polished.
- The last step will be edits and revisions! I will step into help revise the work and give my feedback. It is very important For me to include the student in this step so that they learn editing skills both for their benefit and their peers!
This is just one example of an essay workshop! I’m happy to work with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels in a number of subjects. One thing that really sets me apart from other tutors is my ability to connect with my students: understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles to best support them. I really care about each of my students and I hope to leave each student I work with feeling prepared and confident in their own learning abilities!
