About Ali
I'm a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Glasgow who studied at the University of Glasgow, has played in bands of various genres from funk to metal, and who currently writes and plays a kind of alt-folk style of music incorporating elements from jazz, rock and more. I record my music myself at home, playing all instruments myself, while collaborating live with some of the finest young musicians in Glasgow. When teaching, I love finding and encouraging what a person is enthusiastic about.

We'll focus on whatever it is you want to learn, following what you're enthusiastic about in order to get the most fun and most learning out of our lessons. I encourage learning by ear, which I can guide you through, and often leave time for jamming.
If you're interested in songwriting/composition lessons I employ various techniques aimed at loosening up and silencing the inner critic in order to get creating uninhibited by any negative thoughts or emotions. Lessons are usually 45 minutes long and are for any age or level.
