About Grace
I come from a huge family of educators, spanning 4 generations. I decided to follow in my family's footsteps and pursue a degree in Elementary Education at the University of Illinois. There, I gained experience in current best-practice teaching methods while completing internships in 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade classrooms, as well as an experience in an intervention room. I completed my student teaching in the South Suburbs of Chicago in a 3rd grade classroom, before moving to the North side of Chicago to teach 5th grade. I am back in the South Suburbs and excited to work with students as a tutor!

About the lesson

Tutoring sessions generally begin with reviewing homework or classwork examples from the student to gauge the student's understanding of the focal topic. From there, I will teach a mini lesson on the subject with an "I do, we do, you do" approach to familiarize the student with the subject. Tutoring sessions would generally end with a game or related task that the student can learn and then repeat at home for practice.
