About Anna
I graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in International Studies focusing on Global Development and Migration. I also earned a minor in Modern & Classical Language, Literature & Cultures related to China. After college I received my certification in TEFL.
I worked for almost 2 years (2021-2023) as a full-time ESL teacher focusing on the literacy level but I also taught beginners and intermediates.
For the last 5 months I have been doing private tutoring. I have worked with clients on accent softening, basic English and preparing for the GED test.

Students should expect me to be well prepared and to have put a lot of thought and care into the materials I bring. For each lesson, I spend at least 2 hours preparing so that I can help the student as best I can. I create these materials and lesson plans to hit all 4 target areas: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing. But the thing is, if the student doesn't want to use any of those materials and wants to do something completely on-the-fly, I am fine with that too! So I am very flexible and truly want the student to do what THEY feel is valuable for them. They can also expect me to be kind, patient, friendly, respectful and approachable. I know that learning a language is difficult and can be discouraging. I try to make my lessons as informative but also as fun and as low-pressure as I can. Feel free to make mistakes, I won't judge you!
My lessons are for anyone who wants to improve their English. I have taught and tutored almost all levels (literacy-high intermediate).
