History and political science are more than simply memorizing people, places, and dates, it's about understanding concepts that inform us of who we are and our positionality within our community, society, and the world. This entails active reading and critical analysis. A typical lesson plan for History consists of reading primary and secondary sources, identifying arguments, perspectives, biases, and deriving an independent conclusion. A lesson plan for Political Science (theory-based) looks towards political thought leaders, analyzing their arguments, the significance of their work, and applying their conceptual framework to today's society. A quantitative Political Science lesson assesses data sets for statistical significance and translating this into an accurate model for a quantitative data analysis paper.
