About Emily
I currently teach Year 5/6 and have experience working with all primary year groups, so I understand that everyone learns in their own way and at their own pace. My lessons are fun, interactive, and built around what you need — whether that’s practising tricky maths questions, improving writing skills, or preparing for the 11+. I’ll help you feel ready and confident, with lots of encouragement and clear explanations along the way. Learning should be something to look forward to! My goal is to help you believe in yourself, enjoy the challenge, and be proud of what you can achieve.

My tutoring sessions are specially tailored for primary-aged children, with a particular focus on preparing students for the 11+. My teaching style is student-centred and adaptable, focusing on each learner’s unique goals. I believe that every student learns best when lessons are interactive, engaging, and structured around real understanding. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though it can be adjusted based on the student’s age, attention span, or specific goals. As a Year 5/6 teacher with over a year of classroom experience — and with time spent teaching across all primary year groups — I’ve learned how important it is to make learning fun, supportive, and meaningful. I love helping students build their confidence and really enjoy those “lightbulb” moments when things click!
