About James

I'm a graduate of one of London's top drama schools - the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Since graduating, I have worked in theatre, film and television both in the UK and abroad and have taught and directed students for almost a decade at various schools.

About the lesson

Hi, I'm James!

I love helping people express themselves which means that teaching is a great fit for me.

Trying to communicate when you are not confident about using your voice can be stressful - I know, I've been there.

I use an encouraging approach, using tools that I have learned at drama school and over ten years of acting, teaching and directing.

Everyone brings something unique to the table. As actors sometimes say, there's only one of you and that's generally what you do best!

I know James from the Rose Theatre when he was teaching my daughter in her first acting classes. I got the impression that he created a very 'safe space' for the children to explore their voice and acting creativity. My daughter's self esteem, confidence and self expression grew quickly.
My daughter says (I'm paraphrasing) that James was very clear and organised on the structure of the lesson but allowed freedom and creativity within the structure.
