About Cecilia

I am a bubbly and warm Postgraduate Student that is excited about learning and teaching. My passion for knowledge and fostering growth is boundless and I will approach every lesson with patience, fun and enthusiasm. Creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment is paramount to me, as I believe that when students are excited about their education, that is when they excel. With a dedication to tailoring my lessons to suit diverse learning styles, I aim to empower each student with the tools they need to achieve academically and thrive in their personal development. Together, we will embark on an inspiring journey of discovery and achievement, where curiosity and joy in learning will be our guiding lights.

About the lesson

As a tutor, my approach is student-centred, aiming to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. I believe in understanding each student's unique learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. By tailoring my teaching to suit individual needs, I can maximise their learning potential.

I will utilise a variety of techniques and methodologies to make learning enjoyable and effective. To ensure comprehension, I may incorporate visual aids, real-life examples, and interactive activities. Down the track we can have open discussions and questions allowing students to explore topics deeper, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The length of my lessons typically ranges from 60 to 90 minutes. I hope this duration to be optimal as it provides sufficient time for covering material, addressing questions, and engaging in meaningful discussions without overwhelming the student, of course, depending on what the student prefers and needs.

I hold a Bachelors in Health Sciences and a Postgraduate Diploma in Population Health during which I would often conduct research and write many essays, presentations and proposals requiring a good writing and speaking capacity. During this I was top of my class in Adolescent Development where I learnt 'positive youth development' and a strengths based approach to nurturing young people. I have also been the Head Coach of Under 12s Waterpolo so have experience working with kids from various backgrounds and learning abilities, creating training plans and implementing them over the course of the year. Though I haven't yet had formal tutoring experience, I believe I have had many opportunities to learn skills that make me a great tutor.

My lessons can cater to any level adapting my teaching to suit their educational needs. I can support struggling students who require extra attention, as well as challenge advanced learners seeking to excel further in their studies.

In summary, my tutoring approach revolves around personalised instruction, interactive learning, and fostering a positive learning atmosphere. I am dedicated to empowering my students to become independent learners and confident individuals in the subject matter.
