About Mitch
My name is Mitch Walker, and I will graduate from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Science in December 2024. Currently, I am a part-time student with a passion for STEM education and working with students. I have extensive experience tutoring middle and high school students, achieving proven results in high standardized test scores and improved grades.
I aim to make each tutoring session engaging because, while studying can be challenging, it is my responsibility to both educate and help students enjoy the learning process. By creating a positive and supportive environment, I ensure that students not only learn effectively but also develop a lasting appreciation for the subjects they study, preparing them for success in future coursework.

I collaborate closely with parents and students to identify goals for our tutoring sessions. Each lesson begins with ensuring that students grasp the challenging concepts in their lesson plans. Using an iPad, I write and draw to enhance my explanations.
Next, we focus on problem-solving. Rather than providing answers, I ask targeted questions to guide students toward finding solutions independently. This approach not only helps them understand problem-solving techniques but also builds their confidence, which is crucial for test-taking.
For standardized test prep, I tailor my sessions to the specific test the student is preparing for. By familiarizing students with the types of questions found on each test, they learn to quickly recognize and approach each problem, saving time and boosting their confidence, which I believe is key to success.
I have experience tutoring middle and high school students in math, chemistry, physics, and general standardized test preparation, including reading comprehension, English, math, and science.
