About Miranda
I have a love for teaching and mentoring that is complemented by my strong academic and professional background. I hold a BA in Anthropology with honors from Yale and an MPH in Health Policy from YSPH. I've worked in non-profit, academic, and government organizations. More importantly, I have years of experience in education. I've taught summer courses for ambitious high school students, mentored college applicants, and tutored my peers in social science coursework. I'm passionate about making sure students feel confident in their work and critical thinking skills. A huge part of that is instilling knowledge of everyday, real life applications for what I teach. I understand the importance of getting good grades, but I also value my students using their knowledge and skills for whatever they put their minds to. Some of my more successful students have conducted extensive research on topics of their choice, such as political themes in horror movies, started their own projects like debate teams, or been accepted into their dream colleges. It gives me tremendous pride to see my students thrive!
