About Charlotte

As someone who has been doing community service which involves tutoring students from primary to secondary school, I realized my passion in helping fellow students overcome their fear and dread towards certain subjects. As a student myself, I know how frustrating it can get to not be able to grasp knowledge that others can. Through my education journey, I’ve been self-taught and realized the importance of finding a unique studying method that suits your own needs. When one is able to find such a method, they can digest information in their own way. I wish to share my own studying methods and help you find your own studying method as well.

About the lesson

Firstly, with the recent syllabus changes, I will tailor my teaching methods to align closely with what you are learning in school. During our first lesson, I will take time to understand the school’s approach and your current foundation before adjusting my methods accordingly. For example, primary school word problems will be taught using model-drawing techniques, though I can introduce basic algebra if parents would like their child to progress further.

Secondly, throughout the lessons, I will observe carefully to identify the specific areas where you may be struggling. I will prepare personalised notes and design targeted practice questions of varying difficulty—from foundational to challenging—so that you can build confidence and can handle any question you encounter.

Lastly, while I can be firm when necessary, my goal is to build a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. I hope to foster a (friend) relationship where you feel supported and hopefully looks forward to lessons, rather than dreading them.

*I may introduce a reward system where you have to earn points in exchange for a small prize (e.g snacks, etc), so that one can get into the habit of setting small & reasonable goals and work towards it. Though such systems & new ideas will be discussed with parents beforehand.
