About Rhonda
Hello, I'm Rhonda! I enjoy learning, teaching, and meeting new people. I have a degree in Library Science from Indiana University (IU). I have worked in and around libraries for over 30 years. I enjoy seeing the light in the eyes of a person when they finally are proficient in reading. A whole new world is open to explore! Let's give it a go!

I have worked for 10 years as a library assistant in a high school library, 9 years as a reading advisor in a public library, and 13 years as a children's librarian in a private library environment. I believe that each individual learns through different methods and senses. I advocate : "an educational approach developed by Maria Montessori, emphasizing self-directed learning, hands-on activities, and collaborative play in a prepared environment." This philosophy has worked for me throughout my career with multiple ages and cultures of men, women, and children. I have observed that learning is accomplished quickly and efficiently with a one-on-one mentoring mindset. A typical lesson plan would depend on the age, abilities, and comfort of the individual being taught. I am willing and able to help anyone struggling to read and understand the English language.
