About Hamish
I hold degrees in archaeology and cultural anthropology, with high distinction, and am completing a Master of Research in economic anthropology. My academic work explores the cultural dimensions of technology and value. I offer thoughtful, structured tutoring that supports critical thinking, analytical writing, and deep engagement with complex ideas. I’m also dyslexic and understand neurodiverse students who might struggle a bit with study patterns and crafting essays. Professionally, I have worked for 20 years in political communications.

I tutor undergraduate social science students in writing, theory, and analysis. Drawing on my degrees in archaeology and cultural anthropology, I offer 60-minute lessons focused on discussion, critical thinking, and academic clarity tailored to each student’s needs and goals. My current research is focused on the economic anthropology of Artificial Intelligence and I welcome students with a keen interest in pressing social and political questions.
