About Laurence
My name is Laurence, I have a background in Chemical Education. This has given me a good understanding of how students learn, and how to use that understanding in order to tutor well. STEM subjects are often abstract and difficult to grasp, from my studies and years of practice I am able to convert these ideas into something more familiar so that you can learn effectively and gain a deeper understanding of these complex subjects. I've had experience across a range of years and levels, and can meet you wherever you need to help your studies.

My lessons are fun and engaging, often with a huge focus on centring the new information into real-world examples that develop students' understanding of abstract concepts alongside ideas they are already familiar with. They typically last for an hour to give time to practise the new ideas that are covered each session. I have a background in chemical education and have led workshops for first-year chemistry students, this experience alongside my time volunteering as a young leader for the Scouts Association has developed an ability to communicate with others on their level, ensuring that I am as effective as possible when tutoring. These lessons are for GCSE / A Level STEM students, ages 14-18.
