Hello, my name is Mfoniso, and I'm from Nigeria. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in music and a diploma in music production; this reflects my passion and devotion to the art. With over a decade of experience as a music teacher and producer, my passion for education drives me to inspire and guide aspiring musicians to achieve their full potential. Beyond music, I enjoy running, voice acting, reading, historical research, and curating diverse musical experiences. With a rich tapestry of over 12 years of teaching experience, my journey as a music teacher began well before my university days, where I found joy in imparting musical knowledge to kids and teenagers. Now, equipped with a degree in music, my expertise extends to teaching total beginners and intermediate musicians across various musical domains. I specialize in a diverse range of music subjects, including music production, recording, singing, songwriting, music history, guitar, saxophone, and beat-making. Regardless of age or proficiency level, I cater to the musical needs of kids, teens, and adults. Teaching is my passion; I am devoted to guiding students in achieving their musical aspirations. My teaching arsenal includes Logic Pro X, Cubase, Fruity Loops, and Reason as Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) for music production. From imparting the intricacies of songwriting in different styles to offering insights into music theory, I not only teach but also draw from my extensive experience as a songwriter and producer. I believe that my hands-on experience in writing and producing songs for myself and other musicians positions me uniquely to provide practical and effective guidance. About the lesson

As a passionate and experienced music tutor, my teaching approach is centred around practical engagement, individualised learning, and musical expression. I teach singing, guitar, saxophone, music theory, music production, and songwriting, tailoring each lesson to fit the unique goals and skill level of the student—whether you're a complete beginner, an intermediate musician, or preparing for advanced music studies.

My method combines ear training, solfege (movable and fixed do), hands-on practice, and theory application to make learning music both enjoyable and effective. I use real songs, exercises, and improvisation techniques to help students understand musical concepts deeply. In instrumental lessons (guitar or saxophone), we focus on tone production, technique, and expression, while voice lessons emphasise breath control, pitch accuracy, and stylistic interpretation.

In music theory and songwriting, I make use of chord progressions, melody construction, and lyric development, while music production sessions are done using industry-standard tools like Logic Pro X, focusing on beat-making, arrangement, and mixing techniques.

Each session begins with a short warm-up or technical drill (e.g., vocal exercises, scales, finger strength routines). We then move into the core material—this could be learning a new song, improvising over a backing track, analyzing a piece of music, composing, or working on a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Lessons usually end with a short review and a clear assignment to guide home practice.

What makes my tutoring unique is my holistic approach to music: I bridge the gap between classical training and contemporary styles. My background as a professional musician, songwriter, and music producer allows me to help students not only play and understand music but also create and perform it with confidence. I'm also deeply committed to encouraging creativity and building self-confidence, especially in learners who feel unsure of their abilities.

My lessons are for all levels and ages—from children and teens taking their first steps into music, to adults rekindling a musical passion, or advanced students preparing for exams, auditions, or professional careers.
