Bozena studied this subject at school. She worked very hard and achieved a very high result. She would be an excellent tutor in this subject as she has experience and success herself.

Last October I asked Bozena if she could help out preparing me for my Cambridge interview. Using my personal statement, passages and general questions, she purposely asked me questions I had not thought of before which got me read to think on my feet and out of the box. She would often press me on what I said, playing the devil's advocate, to get me ready to respond and think flexibly.
Then she would give me feedback on my answers and get me to answer the question again to reinforce the advice she had given me. I found her style of teaching really helpful because instead of just telling me the 'right' thing to say, she made me think independently for myself which improved my historical skills. This meant I was more capable answering questions that I had not thought of before and engage with new material.
I also found Bozena extremely encouraging and motivating. When I could not think of anything to say, she would give me ideas to engage with. When I gave answers that were misplaced, instead telling me "you're wrong" she would get me to re-consider what I was saying by putting forward a more convincing counter-argument. When I said something thoughtful and poignant, she always praised me which gave me a boost in confidence and self-belief.
The reason why Bozena was such a good teacher was partly down to her being an excellent historian. Despite having interest in different aspects of history, her motivation to research the basics of that period coupled with her acumen in asking questions made for excellent support .
