About Mark
I'm a graduate of Philosophy MA (KCL, dist.) and Philosophy and Mathematics MA (Edinburgh, first class).
I have experience both as a private tutor and as a tutor in secondary schools. I also have experience as a primary school TA, as a debating coach and as a leader of a school-based mentoring project.
My achievements in philosophy include publication in Aporia, a journal at the University of St. Andrews, and an award for best Philosophy MA dissertation from King's College London.
Aside from tutoring, I currently work as an Evidence and Impact Officer for a national charity.

I am an understanding and patient tutor. I aim to teach students not just how to pass any exams they may have, but also how to do real philosophy. The latter is what sets my students up for success in the long-term, both in philosophy and in other subjects. It gives students an invaluable grounding in how to think critically, how to solve problems, and how to better interrogate and understand what they truly think.
My lessons range from 45 minutes up to two hours, depending on the student's stage, needs and goals. I teach philosophy, ethics and logic from early secondary school up to undergraduate level, and lessons can be online or face-to-face in London.
