About Veron

I am a graduate of SMU Economics and have been teaching for more than 10 years. I enjoy teaching economics to my JC juniors. Economics might feel a bit foreign to some since it's a relatively new topic to most. However, it is an important topic as it grants students an understanding on how the world works. Some students might be frustrated they are not able to score the marks despite understanding the economic concepts and I'm here to help! Workload can be very heavy and time is a scare resource so I tend to get to the point during classes and give shorter assignments necessary to build up foundations/ strengthen writing.

Beyond teaching, I also enjoy talking to students about life students often seek my advice for uni applications/ career options and I'll do my best to advise based on my experiences.

About the lesson

I am a graduate of SMU Economics. I have tutored for coming 12 years, of which 9 years teaching econs. I adapt my teaching based on the students' needs/weakness. Nearing exams, I take initiative to focus on weaker areas, time management skills, concept recaps and supplementing more practices. I keep lessons light heartened and weave in daily examples to help students grasp concepts better. I provide extra materials and mark additional essays out of class. I have coached many JC econs students from almost every JC throughout the years, many eventually snagged As and Bs during A levels and secured offers from local universities.

Beyond teaching, I love to share more about my university experiences with students. Most of us have no idea what we want when we were in JC or even in university. I would love to have had a mentor back then to give me some advice or even share some experiences with me. I hope through my experiences I am able to share or advise students to the best of my abilities, whether it is economics-related or beyond.
