About Ben
I am a certified ESL teacher with 200 hours of TEFL Certification. I hold a B.A. in Global Studies from the University of Vermont, and an M.A. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies with Intensive Arabic from the University of Vermont. I also have five years experience teaching ESL. I am from the United States, and currently live in Cairo, Egypt.

A typical lesson plan will incorporate real life materials such as newspaper and magazine articles. In my lessons I will typically help students with their abilities to analyze a text in more in depth level. From the context of the article or story I encourage and initiate a debate to be created amongst my students. I especially enjoy hearing students debate about controversial topics such as climate change, LBGT rights, capital punishment, etc.
