About Lydia
I would describe myself as a friendly and approachable tutor that can help build your confidence learning Spanish. I love learning languages! I am extremely passionate about Spanish, I speak Spanish every day and I am constantly immersed in the language. I have experience living in Spain and Latin America. I am currently working as an English teacher in Cali, Colombia and have been here for 1.5 years. I studied Spanish for 4 years at the University of Leeds (BA Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies) and graduated with a 2:1 and a distinction in spoken Spanish. I have over 2 years of formal experience teaching English and informal teaching of Spanish and Portuguese. I have a C2 level of Spanish, and achieved 9 at GCSE and A* at A-Level.

Whilst I aim to cover all speaking, reading, writing and listening skills in my Spanish lessons, if there is a specific part of Spanish learning you are struggling with, I can tailor your lessons with me in order to tackle this. With regards to GCSE and A-level students, I follow topics given by exam boards/taught by school teachers, as well as relevant topics in the Spanish speaking world to keep lessons interesting, informative and most importantly fun! Whether you are preparing for your exams in school, or want to improve your already impressive Spanish, I am flexible in my approach to teaching and provide the best learning experience catered to you.
